Product Description:
A rare opportunity to purchase one of our flagship furnaces! This listing is for a ML Furnaces RH2 1700°C Furnace 4.5 Litre. 5.5kW single phase industrial furnace. The internal capacity of the furnace is 4.5 Litres with a 1700°C maximum temperature rating. The furnace is currently being refurbished by our team of specialist technicians and will be fitted with a new Eurotherm P116 digital PID high accuracy temperature controller and Type B thermocouple. The overtemp protection is a Eurotherm P116 Over-temp Controller and Type B thermocouple. Power to the elements is regulated by a solid-state relay. Available from stock Ex Works. (If you wish to specify your own controllers / programmers / recorders please contact us for details.) As this is a refurbished unit, there are scratches and imperfections as shown in the images. The full retail price for a new equivalent furnace is over £15,000. A refurbished unit is therefore not only good for the environment but also represents a significant saving on Capital Investment.
Heating: Heating is by means of free radiating `U` shaped molybdenum disilicide elements mounted vertically in recesses at each side of the work chamber. Power to the furnace elements is controlled by a transformer and phase angle fired thyristors.
Controls: The furnace control system is mounted in a ventilated enclosure below the furnace body. The controls consist of an on/off switch; a green `mains on` light; amber `load on` light; red `over-temperature cut out` warning light; a Eurotherm P116 digital PID temperature controller, and a Eurotherm P116 digital over-temperature protection controller. Type B (Pt./Pt.30%Rho/Pt6%Rho.) thermocouples probe the furnace chamber for accurate temperature sensing of the chamber for control and over-temperature protection purposes. Thermocouple break protection is fitted as standard. A door switch is fitted that operates when the furnace door is opened and ensures that power to the elements is cut off. This is wired into the secondary contactor.

Manufactured in Germany, this Heraeus oven has a ventilated chamber located in a sheet steel outer casing finished in light green paintwork. The oven features a side opening door which affords easy access to the work chamber. The internal capacity of the oven is a generous 252 Litres with a 250°C temperature rating and a steel interior. The chamber has 3 chrome wire shelves which are fully adjustable to allow for optimum sample distribution inside the oven. Heating: Heating is supplied by 6 high quality sheathed elements carefully positioned in concealed ducts at the base of the oven work chamber. A powerful air circulation fan ensures heat distribution within the work chamber. The drying oven also features twin exhaust / inlet ports. When cooling is required, a manual vent control lever situated on the control panel opens the inlet port at the rear of the chamber. The open inlet port allows cool air to flow over the elements and the powerful air circulation fan then causes heated air within the chamber to be vented out via the exhaust.
Controls: The oven is equipped with a Eurotherm P116 temperature controller. A twin Jumo PT100 sensor records the process values. The control panel also features a mains isolator, indicator lamps and a manual vent control lever.
