ML Furnaces LimitedThis "Sinter" section deals with the types of furnaces needed for laboratory work at high temperatures. This work is generally done with powders or granular components loose, pressed or otherwise formed into pellets or blocks. The powders may be ceramic or metallic in nature and the atmosphere may not always be air. They are usually of small working volume. M L Furnaces Ltd has developed a range of furnaces for these operations. This page draws together the title pages for the units which are most likely to be of use as well as including a few which may be of a interest to other parts of your operation. Low temperature applicationsDryers with operating temperatures of up to 250°C can be found at Bench top dryers which can accommodate items up to about 500mm cube and also offer air circulation as a means of improving uniformity of temperature distribution. Medium temperature applicationsHeat treatment above about 750°C can generally be satisfactorily achieved without the need for air circulation since radiation begins to play a significant part in temperature distribution. It is also difficult to construct satisfactory bearings and fan blades to operate above this temperature. The M L Furnaces Ltd range for heat treatment furnaces begins with the annealing oven which may be of use in some applications. High temperature applicationsThe M L Furnaces Ltd range for high temperature furnaces begins with the M range of furnaces for temperatures up to 1200°C with chamber sizes taking ware from 50 x 50 x 100mm to about 250 x 250 x 300mm. Within this temperature band is a top loading furnace which can be used with or without a crucible. In the crucible configuration an A6 size crucible can be used for melting metals and glasses. A standard range of tube furnaces are available and these can be supplied with either horizontal or vertical, closed or open ended, tubes. Temperatures up to 1600°C can be acheived in the HT, VH and CL ranges of chamber furnaces and the associated tube furnaces types ST14, ST15 and ST16. At the top of this range are the RH range of chamber furnaces and the ST 17 tube furnace. Other furnacesChamber furnaces with front loading or bottom loading are built to order for work at temperatures up to 1800°C.
